The Poopy Nano 3 designed for most cats and performs best under these conditions:

How does Poopy work?

1. Plug it in, fill it with litter & go
Plug it in, fill with coarse clumping grit or Poopy Grit and you're done. The app is optional.

2. Your cat goes in, and magic happens
Poopy notices as soon as your cat goes in or out. You set after how many minutes cleaning starts. Safety sensors stop immediately if your cat comes back in.

After waiting, Poopy turns and separates the dirty grit into a separate bag. No more scooping, just play with your cat!

Which grit is suitable?

Bentonite/Mineral (Fine and Coarse)
The Poopy Nano 3 with both coarse and fine clumping cat litter. Ideally, the litter should contain an odor-control agent, such as activated carbon. For best results, we recommend litter that forms firm clumps and absorbs moisture effectively, such as bentonite.

Tofu
We recommend tofu grit with rods no more than 1.5 cm long and 1.5 mm thick, as it is well filtered and clean grit does not end up in the waste compartment unduly.
The following types of cat litter do not work well with Poopy and may cause malfunctions or reduced performance:

The Poopy Nano 3 a self-cleaning litter box that makes your life a lot easier. As soon as your cat has finished using the litter box, smart sensors detect that it has left the box. The Poopy Nano 3 then starts a cleaning cycle. Clumps are separated from the clean litter and collected in an airtight special Poopy . This means you always have a fresh and odor-free litter box, without having to scoop it yourself.
The Poopy Nano 3 best when three things are right: correct use of the device, the right grit, and the right settings. Your cat's health also plays an important role.
The frequency with which you should empty the litter box depends on the number of cats and how often they use the box.
1 cat → Once every 4-6 days
2 cats → Once every 3-5 days
3 cats → Once every 2-3 days
4 cats → Once every 1-2 days
This is a general guideline from Poopy. Every cat is different, so we recommend keeping a close eye on how quickly the box fills up. That way you will find out for yourself what is the best time for you to change the bag.
The litter box is designed to keep odors and bacteria in. Removing the waste bag is easy and hygienic, as the clumps are contained in a separate container that you can easily remove and empty.
For accurate weighing and optimal performance, it is important to position the Poopy . Place the Poopy a stable, hard surface, out of direct sunlight.
The Poopy best with coarse, clump-forming litter with odor control (such as activated carbon) and low dust content. This type of litter:
- Forms solid clumps that do not fall apart during cleaning
- Keep the drum clean
- Provides effective odor control in combination with the Poopy closed waste compartment.
- Absorbs moisture quickly, preventing urine from leaking through
Poopy fill the Poopy beyond the maximum line on the inner floor. If you add too much grit, it may Poopy in the base or next to the Poopy . The exact volume you need varies depending on the type of grit.
A fresh Poopy with two things: healthy stools and the right grit.
- When your cat has healthy stools, the Poopy will stay clean Poopy . Healthy stools are firm, well-formed, dark brown, and not watery/sticky. Healthy urine forms firm, rounded clumps that do not leak.
The right grit means you have less cleaning to do. For the cleanest experience, coarse clumping grit works best, preferably with:
- High moisture absorption
- Odor control (e.g., activated carbon)
- Little to no dust
- Granules that don't stick to paws
With good litter and healthy stools, many users Poopy ever need to clean the Poopy completely. However, we do recommend:
- Every 3-4 weeks: remove the inner floor and vacuum up the small amount of grit underneath. It is normal to find some grit under the inner floor from time to time.
- Every 2-3 months: lubricate wheels with WD40.
Please note: for cats that urinate standing up or against the wall, an open litter box is often more suitable.
Most cats switch to Poopy on their own. If your cat needs a little time, these steps will help:
- Place the Poopy a quiet, familiar spot
Place the Poopy your cat would normally use its litter box. The familiar environment will help your cat get used to it more quickly. - Let your cat get acquainted at its own pace
Set the Poopy to manual mode (automatic cleaning off) Poopy first few days. This way, it will only move when you press the button, which is nice for cats that need to get used to new sounds or movements. - Make the Poopy

The Poopy Nano 2 designed for most cats and works best under the following conditions:
- Weight: the built-in sensors detect cats weighing 1 kilogram or more.
- Size: Suitable for medium-sized cats. For very large breeds (such as Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest Cat), the available space may be limited. Therefore, always check that your cat can move comfortably in the drum.
- Age: Suitable for cats of all ages. Please note: the use of clumping cat litter is not recommended for kittens younger than 3–4 months, as they may accidentally ingest it. This can cause health risks. If in doubt, always consult your veterinarian.
Every cat is different. Some cats need time to get used to the automatic cleaning mechanism or the new design. For cats that are sensitive to noise or movement, we recommend introducing the product gradually and calmly.

By that time, kittens are often close to the age (3–4 months) at which the use of clumping cat litter is considered safer. For this reason, the Poopy Nano 2 is also suitable for kittensNano 2 practice, but only from 3–4 months of age.
The Poopy Nano 2 suitable for multiple cats. In practice, you can Poopy accommodate 2 to 3 cats per Poopy . If you have more cats, that’s fine too, but keep in mind that:
- the waste bag will fill up faster, and you'll need to empty it more often
- the litter box will be used more intensively and therefore require more maintenance
- large or heavy cats may experience a little less space in the drum
In short: 1 Poopy Nano 2 ideal for 1 to 3 cats. If you have 4 or more cats, we recommend Poopy an extra Poopy for the best user experience.
Yes, you can. The Poopy Nano 3 can also be used without the app: automatic cleaning starts as standard, and you can clean manually using the button on the device.
The app is optional and gives you extra possibilities, such as receiving notifications, adjusting settings, and viewing statistics of your cat. For the best user experience, we recommend using the app.
The Poopy Nano 3 designed to work with a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, which is the most common type in households. The litter box is not compatible with 5 GHz Wi-Fi. If you have a dual-band router (with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), make sure you select the correct network—usually the Wi-Fi network without "5G" in the name.
The Poopy Nano 3 also works perfectly without Wi-Fi. All basic functions, such as automatic cleaning, manual cleaning, and status notifications via the lights, continue to function as normal. Wi-Fi is optional and is only used for additional features such as receiving firmware updates or connecting to the Poopy(if available).
What doesn't work is connecting via your phone's mobile hotspot or 5G network. The Poopy Nano 2 a stable and consistent connection to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network in your home. A temporary hotspot isn't suitable for this purpose because it doesn't provide a reliable connection and often disconnects automatically after a short time.
Important: When you have connected the Poopy Nano 3 to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz), you can then control it via 4G or 5G on your phone – wherever you are in the world. The connection to your Poopy always Poopy via your home network, giving you access to the smart features wherever you are.
If you have Wi-Fi at home, connecting is very easy via the Wi-Fi button on the box. Don't have Wi-Fi? No problem – the box will continue to do its job, just without smart functions.
