It takes a little getting used to, but once you do, you'll never go back.
Most cats switch to Poopy without any trouble. Some do it after a day, others after a week. This guide will help your cat make the switch at its own pace.
Every cat at its own pace
93%
Of all Poopy, 93% are never returned. And of the returns that do occur, only a portion is due to the cat taking time to get used to it. So there’s a good chance your cat will be fine with this.
Getting Used to It in Three Phases
No schedule with specific days or deadlines: your cat sets the pace. You guide him through these three phases.
Let Poopy find his place Poopy
New object, new smells. Give your cat the space to explore, without any surprises.
Turn it on while you're there
Does your cat use the litter box? Great. Then let the technology take over, with you there as a comforting presence.
Say goodbye to the old car
Cats prefer cleanliness. Now you can take advantage of that.
Frequently Asked Questions About Adjusting
Frequently asked questions about switching providers, answered briefly. Is your question not listed here?
My cat is startled by the sound or movement. What can I do?
Leave Poopy turned off Poopy first. As soon as you notice your cat using the litter box, turn it on and let your cat get used to the cleaning cycle while you’re there to reassure him. Stay calm and speak softly; curiosity will eventually overcome the anxiety.
Should I throw away the old litter box right away?
No, don't throw away the old litter box just yet. Let your cat use both boxes for a while, and gradually clean the old one less and less. Cats prefer a clean litter box, so they'll naturally switch to Poopy on their own.
My cat is still hesitant. How can I lure him to Poopy?
Lure your cat with some catnip or a treat onto and around the Poopy so that it develops positive associations with its new litter box. If that doesn’t help enough, a litter box attractant from the pet store can speed up the transition with a scent that attracts cats.
How long will it take for my cat to get used to it?
Every cat is different. Most cats make the transition within a few days; if your cat takes longer, be patient and adjust the pace. And don’t forget: you have 50 days to try it out, so you have plenty of time.
