The Poopy Nano 2 is a self-cleaning litter box that makes your life a lot easier. As soon as your cat finishes his toilet visit, smart sensors detect that he has left the litter box. Then the Poopy Nano 2 automatically starts a cleaning cycle. Lumps are separated from the clean grit and collected airtight in a special Poopy Bag. As a result, you always have a fresh and odor-free litter box, without having to scoop yourself.

The frequency with which you should empty the litter box depends on the number of cats and how often they use the box.

1 cat → Once every 4-6 days

2 cats → Once every 3-5 days

3 cats → Once every 2-3 days

4 cats → Once every 1-2 days

This is a general guideline from Poopy. Every cat is different, so we recommend keeping a close eye on how quickly the box fills up. That way you will find out for yourself what is the best time for you to change the bag.

The litter box is designed to keep odors and bacteria in. Removing the waste bag is easy and hygienic, as the clumps are contained in a separate container that you can easily remove and empty.

The Poopy Nano 2 is designed to work with a 2.4 GHz wifi network, which is the most common type in households. The litter box is not compatible with 5 GHz wifi. If you have a dual-band router (with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), make sure you select the correct network, usually the wifi network without "5G" in the name.

The Poopy Nano 2 also works fine without wifi. All basic functions, such as automatic cleaning, manual cleaning and status notifications via the lights, continue to function as usual. Wifi is optional, and is only used for additional functionalities such as receiving firmware updates or linking to the Poopy (if available).

What won't work is connecting via a mobile hotspot or 5G network from your phone. The Poopy Nano 2 needs a stable and constant connection to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network in your home. A temporary hotspot is not suitable for this purpose, as it does not provide a reliable connection and often disconnects automatically after a short period of time.

Important: Once you connect the Poopy Nano 2 to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz), you can then control it via 4G or 5G on your phone - wherever you are in the world. The connection to your Poopy is always through your home network, giving you access to its smart features from anywhere.

If you have Wi-Fi at home, connecting is very easy via the Wi-Fi button on the box. Don't have Wi-Fi? No problem – the box will continue to do its job, just without smart functions.

Does Poopy also work with other grit?
Yes, Poopy also works with other coarse, lumpy cat litter or tofu grit. However, please note that the results are less optimal than with Poopy Grit: the leveling of the grit bed is then less tight.

• For tofu litter, it's important to use sticks that are no longer than 1.5 cm and have a diameter of 1.5 mm.
  

Even with these alternatives, your Poopy keeps functioning, just less optimally. Do you want the best performance? Go with Poopy Grit.

Which grit does Poopy not work with?
Some types of grit are unsuitable and may even cause damage:

• Non-clumping grit (such as silica/crystal pellets or wood pellets)
  → does not form clumps, so the Poopy cannot separate anything.
• Very fine litter (such as bentonite powder or sand-like litter)
  → too dusty, leaks into the base and causes malfunctions or defects.
• Non-clumping organic litter (such as sawdust, corn litter, or paper pellets)
  → does absorb moisture, but forms wet pulp that sticks.
• Non-absorbent fillings (such as pearls, silicone balls, or crystals)
  → hardly absorb any moisture, cause odor, and can damage the base.
  

In short:
Anything that is not coarse and lumpy does not work or can even cause damage.
With Poopy Grit, you are always guaranteed the best performance.

Finally, fill the box to the recommended level (usually just below the max mark in the drum) and refill as needed. For example, after emptying the tray or if you notice the level dropping.

By using the right cat litter, you ensure that the Poopy Nano 2 can do its job properly as well as giving you maximum convenience, just as it was intended to do.

Suitability for cats

The Poopy Nano 2 is designed for most cats and works optimally under the following conditions:

• Weight: the built-in sensors detect cats from 1 kilogram.
  
• Size: suitable for cats of average size. For very large breeds (such as Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest Cat), the available space may be limiting. Therefore, always check whether your cat can move comfortably in the drum.
  
• Age: suitable for cats of all ages. Please note: the use of clumping cat litter is not recommended for kittens younger than 3–4 months, as they may accidentally swallow it. This can cause health risks. Always consult your veterinarian if in doubt.
  

Behavior and habituation

Every cat is different. Some cats need time to get used to the automatic cleaning mechanism or the new design. For cats that are sensitive to noise or movement, we recommend introducing it gradually and calmly.

Legal disclaimer

• The user is always responsible for assessing whether the Poopy Nano 2 is suitable for his or her cat(s).
  
• Poopy cannot guarantee that every cat will accept or use the Poopy without question.
  
• If the Poopy Nano 2 is nevertheless used by kittens younger than 3-4 months in combination with clumping cat litter, the user bears the full and sole risk.
  
• Under no circumstances will Poopy be liable for any damage, health problems or injury to cats resulting from the ingestion of clumping cat litter by kittens that are too young or from ignoring the above advice.
  

Please note that by legal directive, kittens should not leave the litter until 7 weeks of age, but justified and recommended is 12 weeks or later. By this time, kittens are often close to the age (3-4 months) at which the use of clumping litter is considered safer. Therefore, in practice, the Poopy Nano 2 is also suitable for kittens, but only from 3-4 months of age.

Cleaning guidelines for Poopy Nano 2:

To keep your Poopy hygienic and in good working order, we recommend the following maintenance:

Daily

• Check the litter and remove any clumps or waste that wasn't collected.
• See if the waste bag is full.
  

Weekly

• Replace the waste bag.
• Clean the drum with a damp cloth and mild detergent (no harsh chemicals or abrasives).
• Check the sensors and gently wipe them clean if needed.

Monthly

• Clean the entire inside of the Poopy thoroughly with warm water and a mild detergent.
• Let all parts dry completely before reassembling.

Important

• Do not use bleach, harsh chemicals, or abrasive materials: these can damage the material.
  
• Make sure the electronic components never come into direct contact with water.
  
• Only the separate drum and the interior floor may be rinsed.
  

Following these guidelines will keep your Poopy clean, fresh and last longer.

The Poopy Nano 2 is suitable for multiple cats. In practice, you can count on 2 to 3 cats per Poopy without problems. If you have more cats, this is also possible, but keep in mind that:

• the waste bag will fill up faster, and you'll need to empty it more often
  
• the litter box will be used more intensively and therefore require more maintenance
  
• large or heavy cats may experience a little less space in the drum
  

In short, 1 Poopy Nano 2 is ideal for 1 to 3 cats. If you have 4 or more cats, we recommend considering an additional Poopy for best convenience.

Yes, you can. The Poopy Nano 2 also works without an app: automatic cleaning starts by default, and you can clean manually via the button on the device.

The app is optional and gives you extra possibilities, such as receiving notifications, adjusting settings, and viewing statistics of your cat. For the best user experience, we recommend using the app.
