The Poopy Nova Pro is a self-cleaning litter box that makes your life a lot easier. As soon as your cat finishes using the litter box, smart sensors detect that it has left. A cleaning cycle then starts automatically. Clumps are separated from the clean litter and hermetically sealed in a special Poopy Bag. This means you always have a fresh and odor-free litter box, without having to scoop yourself.

The Poopy Nova Pro works best when three things are right: correct use of the device, the right litter, and the right settings. Your cat's health also plays an important role.

De opvangbak is ontworpen om geuren en bacteriën binnen te houden. Het verwijderen van het afvalzakje is eenvoudig en hygiënisch, doordat de klonten in een aparte container zitten die je gemakkelijk kunt verwijderen en legen.

Voor nauwkeurige weging en de beste werking, is het belangrijk om de Poopy goed neer te zetten. Plaats de Poopy op een stabiele en harde ondergrond, niet in direct zonlicht.

The Poopy works optimally with coarse and fine clumping litter with odor control (such as activated carbon) and low dust. This type of litter:

• Forms firm clumps that do not fall apart during cleaning
• Keeps the drum clean
• Provides good odor control in combination with the Poopy's enclosed waste compartment
• Absorbs moisture quickly, preventing urine from leaking through

A fresh Poopy starts with two things: healthy stool and the right litter.

• When your cat has healthy stool, the Poopy will stay clean by itself. Healthy stool is: firm, well-formed, dark brown, and not watery/sticky. Healthy urine forms firm, rounded clumps that do not leak through.

The right litter means you have to clean less. For the cleanest experience, coarse and fine clumping litter works best, preferably with:
- High moisture absorption
- Odor control (e.g., activated carbon)
- Little to no dust
- Granules that don't stick to paws

With good litter and healthy stools, many users rarely need to clean the Poopy completely. However, we recommend:

• Every 3-4 weeks: remove the inner floor and vacuum up the small amount of underlying litter. It is normal to occasionally find some litter under the inner floor.
• Every 2-3 months: lubricate the wheels with WD40.

1. Zet de Poopy op een rustige, vertrouwde plek
   Plaats de Poopy waar je kat normaal ook zijn kattenbak zou gebruiken. De vertrouwde omgeving helpt je kat om sneller te wennen. 
2. Laat je kat in zijn eigen tempo kennismaken
   Zet de Poopy de eerste dagen in handmatige modus (automatische reiniging uit). Zo beweegt hij alleen wanneer jij op de knop drukt, fijn voor katten die moeten wennen aan nieuwe geluiden of bewegingen.
3. Maak de Poopy herkenbaar
   Schep een beetje grit uit de oude kattenbak in de Poopy. De vertrouwde geur geeft veel katten direct vertrouwen. 
4. Speel of zit even naast de Poopy
   Door simpelweg in de buurt te zijn of met je kat te spelen bij de Poopy, merkt je kat vanzelf dat de Poopy veilig is. Nieuwsgierigheid doet de rest. 
5. Extra tip voor voorzichtige katten
   Wil je de opening wat toegankelijker maken? Dan kun je de pootjesveger tijdelijk verwijderen. Als je kat gewend is, kun je deze weer terugplaatsen. 

The Poopy Nova Pro is designed for most cats and works optimally under the following conditions:

• Weight: The built-in sensors detect cats weighing 1 kilogram or more.
  
• Size: Suitable for medium-sized cats. For very large breeds (such as Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest Cat), the available space may be restrictive. Therefore, always check if your cat can move comfortably inside the drum.
  
• Age: Suitable for cats of all ages. Please note: the use of clumping cat litter is not recommended for kittens younger than 3–4 months, as they may accidentally ingest it. This can cause health risks. If in doubt, always consult your veterinarian.
  

Every cat is different. Some cats need time to get used to the automatic cleaning mechanism or the new design. For cats sensitive to noise or movement, we recommend a gradual and calm introduction.

Please note: according to legal guidelines, kittens may only leave the nest from 7 weeks of age, but a responsible and recommended age is 12 weeks or later. By then, kittens are often already close to the age (3–4 months) at which the use of clumping cat litter is considered safer. Therefore, in practice, the Poopy Nova Pro is also suitable for kittens, but only from 3–4 months of age.

The Poopy Nova Pro is suitable for multiple cats. In practice, you can count on 2 to 3 cats per Poopy without any problems. If you have more cats, that is also possible, but keep in mind that:

• the waste bag will fill up faster, and you will have to empty it more often
  
• the litter box will be used more intensively and therefore require more maintenance
  
• large or heavy cats may experience a bit less space in the drum
  

In short: One Poopy is ideal for 1 to 3 cats. If you have 4 or more cats, we recommend considering an additional Poopy for the best user experience.

Yes, it can. The Poopy Nova Pro also works without the app: automatic cleaning starts by default, and you can manually clean it using the button on the device.

The app is optional and offers additional features, such as receiving notifications, adjusting settings, and viewing your cat's statistics. For ultimate convenience, we recommend using the app.

The Poopy Nova Pro is designed to work with a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, which is the most common type in households. The litter box is not compatible with 5 GHz Wi-Fi. If you have a dual-band router (with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), make sure you select the correct network – usually, this is the Wi-Fi network without "5G" in its name.

The Poopy also works perfectly fine without Wi-Fi. All basic functions, such as automatic cleaning, manual cleaning, and status notifications via the lights, will continue to function. Wi-Fi is optional and is only used for additional functionalities such as receiving firmware updates or connecting to the Poopy app (if available).

What does not work is connecting via a mobile hotspot or 5G network from your phone. The Poopy requires a stable and constant connection to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network in your home. A temporary hotspot is not suitable for this, as it does not offer a reliable connection and often automatically disconnects after a short time.

Important: once you have connected the Poopy Nano 3 to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz), you can then control it via 4G or 5G on your phone – wherever you are in the world. The connection to your Poopy always runs through your home network, giving you access to the smart functions everywhere.

If you have Wi-Fi at home, connecting is very easy via the Wi-Fi button on the litter box. Don't have Wi-Fi? No problem – the litter box will continue to do its job, just without the smart functions.
