The Poopy Nano 2 is a self-cleaning litter box that makes your life a lot easier. As soon as your cat has finished using the toilet, smart sensors detect that he has left the box. The Poopy Nano 2 then automatically starts a cleaning cycle. Clumps are separated from the clean litter and collected airtight in a special Poopy Bag. This means you always have a fresh and odor-free litter box, without having to scoop it yourself.

How often you need to empty the litter box depends on the number of cats and how often they use it.

1 cat → Once every 4-6 days

2 cats → Once every 3-5 days

3 cats → Once every 2-3 days

4 cats → Once every 1-2 days

This is a general guideline from Poopy. Every cat is different, so we recommend keeping a close eye on how quickly the litter box fills up. This way, you'll naturally discover the best time for you to replace the bag.

The collection bin is designed to contain odors and bacteria. Removing the waste bag is easy and hygienic, as the clumps are in a separate container that you can easily remove and empty.

The Poopy Nano 2 is designed to work with a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, which is the most common type in households. The litter box is not compatible with 5 GHz Wi-Fi. If you have a dual-band router (with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), make sure you select the correct network – this is usually the Wi-Fi network without "5G" in the name.

The Poopy Nano 2 also works perfectly without Wi-Fi. All basic functions, such as automatic cleaning, manual cleaning, and status notifications via the lights, continue to function normally. Wi-Fi is optional and is only used for additional functionalities such as receiving firmware updates or connecting to the Poopy app (if available).

What doesn't work is connecting via a mobile hotspot or your phone's 5G network. The Poopy Nano 2 requires a stable and constant connection to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network at home. A temporary hotspot is not suitable for this, as it does not offer a reliable connection and is often automatically disconnected after a short time.

Important: Once you have connected the Poopy Nano 2 to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz), you can control it via 4G or 5G on your phone – wherever you are in the world. The connection to your Poopy always runs through your home network, giving you access to the smart features from anywhere.

If you have Wi-Fi at home, connecting is very easy via the Wi-Fi button on the box. Don't have Wi-Fi? No problem – the box will continue to do its job, just without the smart features.

Poopy works (naturally) best with Poopy Grit . This grit was specially developed based on customer feedback and extensively tested on the Poopy. It's perfectly matched to the mechanism, ensuring optimal performance.

Does Poopy also work with other grit?
Yes, Poopy also works with other coarse, clumping cat litter or with tofu grit. Keep in mind, however, that the results will be less optimal than with Poopy Grit: the leveling of the litter bed will be less even.

• For tofu, it's important to use sticks that are no longer than 1.5 cm and have a diameter of 1.5 mm .
  

Even with these alternatives, your Poopy will still work, just not as perfectly. For best performance, choose Poopy Grit.

What grit does Poopy NOT work with?
Some types of grit are unsuitable and can even cause damage:

• Non-clumping grit (such as silica/crystal grains or wood grains)
  → does not clump, which means the Poopy can't separate anything.
• Very fine grit (such as bentonite powder or sand-like grit)
  → Too dusty, leaks onto the chassis and causes malfunctions or defects.
• Non-clumping organic litter (such as sawdust, corn grit, or paper pellets)
  → absorb moisture, but form wet pulp that sticks.
• Non-absorbent fillers (such as beads, silicone balls, or crystals)
  → absorb hardly any moisture, cause odor, and can damage the chassis.
  

In short:
Anything that is n't coarse and clumping won't work, or can even cause damage.
With Poopy Grit, you're always guaranteed the best performance.

Finally: fill the tank to the recommended level (usually just below the max line in the drum) and top up when necessary – for example, after emptying the collection tank or if you notice the level dropping.

By using the right cat litter, you ensure that the Poopy Nano 2 can do its job properly and that you get the maximum convenience – just as it was intended.

Suitable for cats

The Poopy Nano 2 is designed for most cats and works optimally under the following conditions:

• Weight: the built-in sensors detect cats from 1 kilogram .
  
• Size: Suitable for medium-sized cats. For very large breeds (such as Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest Cat), the available space may be limited. Therefore, always check that your cat can move comfortably inside the drum.
  
• Age: Suitable for cats of all ages. Caution: The use of clumping cat litter is not recommended for kittens younger than 3–4 months , as they may accidentally ingest it. This can cause health risks. Always consult your veterinarian if in doubt.
  

Behavior and habituation

Every cat is different. Some cats need time to get used to the automatic cleaning mechanism or the new design. For cats sensitive to noise or movement, we recommend a gradual and calm introduction.

Please note: According to legal guidelines, kittens should only leave the nest from 7 weeks of age , but 12 weeks or later is responsible and recommended. By that time, kittens are often close to the age (3–4 months) at which the use of clumping cat litter is considered safer. Therefore, the Poopy Nano 2 is also suitable for kittens in practice, but only from 3–4 months .

Cleaning instructions for Poopy Nano 2:

To keep your Poopy hygienic and functioning properly, we recommend the following maintenance:

Daily

• Check the litter box and remove any clumps or residue that haven't been scooped out.
• Check that the garbage bag isn't full.
  

Weekly

• Replace the garbage bag.
• Clean the drum with a damp cloth and mild detergent (do not use harsh chemicals or abrasives).
• Check the sensors and gently wipe them clean if necessary.

Monthly

• Thoroughly clean the entire inside of the Poopy with warm water and a mild detergent.
• Let all the parts dry thoroughly before reassembling them.

Important

• Do not use bleach, harsh chemicals, or abrasive materials : these can damage the material.
  
• Make sure the electronic components never come into direct contact with water.
  
• Only the loose drum and the inner floor may be rinsed.
  

By following these guidelines, your Poopy will stay clean, fresh, and last longer.

The Poopy Nano 2 is suitable for multiple cats. In practice, you can expect it to handle 2 to 3 cats per Poopy without problems. If you have more cats, that's also possible, but keep in mind that:

• the garbage bag fills up faster and you have to empty it more often
  
• the tank is used more intensively and therefore requires more maintenance
  
• Large or heavy cats may experience less space in the drum.
  

In short: 1 Poopy Nano 2 is ideal for 1 to 3 cats . If you have 4 or more cats, we recommend considering an extra Poopy for optimal ease of use.

The app is optional and gives you extra features, such as receiving notifications, adjusting settings, and viewing your cat's statistics. For ultimate ease of use, we recommend using the app.
