Most cats switch to the Poopy without any problems
1. Leave the Poopy turned off
Keep Poopy switched off at first to prevent your cat from being startled by the noise or movement. Once you notice your cat using Poopy, switch it on and let your cat get used to the cleaning cycle while you are there to reassure them.
2. Old litter box and the Poopy
Do not throw away the old litter tray yet and use the same cat litter that your cat is used to. Sprinkle some litter from the old tray into Poopy to create a familiar scent. Let your cat use both trays for a while and clean the old tray less and less. Cats prefer a clean tray and will therefore switch to Poopy more quickly.
3. Reward interactions with the Poopy
If your cat is reluctant, you can lure him with some catnip or a treat. Place treats on the edge or near Poopy so that your cat develops positive associations with his new litter tray. Reward your cat with extra attention or treats as soon as he uses Poopy.
4. Introduce the automatic function gradually
When your cat starts using Poopy, introduce the self-cleaning function. Turn Poopy on and let your cat watch from a safe distance. Stay calm and talk softly to reassure your cat. Curiosity will eventually overcome fear!
5. Use a lure
Some cats need an extra incentive to switch to Poopy. Litter attractants can help by adding a scent that appeals to cats. This can significantly speed up the transition.
6. Be patient and adjust your approach
Every cat is unique. Adjust these steps based on your cat's behaviour and comfort level. Patience is key! With time, encouragement, and a little love, your cat will eventually embrace Poopy completely.
