Poop on the Bed: The Frustration that Changed Everything
It all started with a problem every cat owner knows: one day my cat decided to poop on my bed, because there was already a turd in the litter box. It wasn't the first time, and it led to yet another argument with my girlfriend. Cats are fantastic, but the chores that come with them: cleaning the litter box, getting litter, and providing fresh water, are anything but fun. And time for these kinds of things? Most busy Dutch people like me don't have that. Then I thought: there has to be a better way.
From Idea to Action: How Poopy Emerged
What started as a frustration quickly became where the idea for Poopy was born. Instead of settling for expensive, self-cleaning litter boxes with no Dutch service, I decided to join my two co-founders in looking for innovative solutions that could make taking care of your best buddy easier, smarter and even more fun.
From Prototype to Bestseller: Poopy's First Success
In the summer of 2023, we left for the Far East to make our dreams come true. We were determined: everything we would create had to be perfect. The first Poopy's were delivered in April 2024 and the response was overwhelming: within no time we sold out. We knew this was just the beginning. We gathered feedback from current customers, improved the Poopy, and again sought partners who shared our vision: cat care could be smarter, more efficient and more fun.
Poopy anno 2025: Growing with Passion and Mission
In January 2025, Poopy has grown into a thriving company with a team of 20 people, with a mission bigger than ever: to revolutionize the world of cat owners. We went into the new year sold out and will receive our restock in Feb. 1.

Our team is driven by one simple belief: your cat deserves the very best, and so do you as its owner. Thanks to our innovative products such as the Poopy Nano, Aero, and Flow , cat owners Flow finally spend more time with their cats instead of worrying about household chores.
Poopy's Impact
At Poopy , we want the very best for all cats in the world. We do this in two ways: by making products that allow you to give your cat the best care, and by setting up initiatives for cats that have not yet found a golden home. Below is a timeline of the social impact we were able to make in our very first year, thanks to all Poopy.
DOC Breda - December 2024
Our very first donation! During the cold month of December, we wanted to give something back. We highlighted the cats, dogs and the wonderful volunteers with a nice donation. It was the starting point of our social mission.
Animal shelter Hart van Brabant (Tilburg) - December 2024
The second shelter we supported in December. Here, too, we gave the cats as well as the volunteers extra attention. Together we make winter just a little warmer.
Poopy for a buddy in need - May 2025
Our Poopy Partner Eva brought a litter box to a man who was in a wheelchair and could no longer properly care for his cat. He absolutely did not want to lose his buddy. This giveaway came at just the right time and ensured that he and his cat could continue to enjoy themselves together. Because the winner had such a special situation, we sent some extra goodies to Eva to make it complete!
Poopy for Amber (May 2025)
Amber became seriously ill and had to be rushed to a care facility. Her mother Yara contacted us. To make sure Amber could keep her cat, we put together a custom-made Poopy with a drinking fountain and a food dispenser. This way Amber can continue to enjoy her faithful buddy without worrying about the litter box or feeding.
Kitten Rescue Curaçao (May 2025)
During our collaboration with veterinarian Piet Hellemans, we heard about his volunteer work for Kitten Rescue Curaçao. Together we arranged for 20 drinking fountains to go that way. This way we not only support cats in the Netherlands and Belgium, but worldwide! And yes, Poopy can now even be found on Curaçao.
Kattenhotel Ooijevaar - Groningen (May 2025)
When we heard that the Kattenhotel Ooijevaar had been hit by fire, we immediately wanted to help. We sent a Poopy and four drinking fountains to give owner Marielle a helping hand. This way she can focus on rebuilding, while we take the pooping out of her hands. Win-win, because the cats now have an always-clean litter box!
Team weekend Portugal - 500 kg of cat litter (June 2025)
During our team weekend in Portugal, we teamed up to donate more than 500 kg of cat litter to a local shelter. Because that's team building at its Poopy's! Of course, we contacted them first to ask what they needed most. That way we knew for sure that our donation would really make a difference.
Amsterdam Stray Cat Foundation (July 2025)
Together with Piet Hellemans, we paid a visit to Stichting Amsterdam Zwerfkat (SAZ). We gave them a Poopy, but since such a self-cleaning litter box is not always practical in a shelter with lots of cats, we came up with another plan together. SAZ is now organizing a raffle among their donors with the Poopy as the grand prize. The proceeds from the lottery tickets can be used by the foundation where it is needed most: that way we make a double impact!
Tholen Animal Shelter (September 2025)
When we received this sweet message from Animal Shelter Tholen, we immediately knew: this is what we want to do something nice for.
Every day they care with heart and soul for kittens, dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes - often with very little resources, but with all the more love.
Donate A Flow October 2025)
In October 2025, for every Poopy sold, we will donate a drinking fountain to a shelter/asylum cat. In collaboration with Lange Frans, we ran this national campaign! Let's see how many drinking fountains we can donate.
